Technic: Petri Alcohol Ink Art

Petri‑technique alcohol‑ink resin traps tiny blooms of ink inside clear epoxy, making each piece look like a miniature galaxy or coral reef. Droplets of pigment are dropped onto freshly poured resin; as they sink and spread, they leave three‑dimensional “cells” frozen in place once the resin cures.

Pulling this off is harder than it looks. The artist has about 30 minutes to hit the perfect resin viscosity, time each ink drop, torch out bubbles, and keep dust away. Room temperature, humidity, and the density of each ink color all change how the bloom forms, and most projects require multiple pours with 24‑hour cures between layers. One late drop or stray bubble can ruin the pattern—so every successful Petri pour is equal parts chemistry and art.

Handmade with love

Each piece is individually poured, tinted, and finished by hand in my Warsaw studio. No two are exactly alike — every detail is uniquely yours.
